This awesome duo are our friends Karla and James.
Took the Elinchrom Ranger and Quadra out in the field today to see what these puppies can do. I found the most pain in the ass lighting situation I could find to see what sort of options each light would give me.
This image was shot with the Ranger 1100w/s pack and the Alien Bees 86″ silver parabolic satellite dish.
I’ll be doing a blog post about it at my main blog www.zarias.com
When I talk about pain in the ass lighting situations, this is what I’m talking about.
Cheers,
Zack

An 86″ umbrella $75?! Why have I not heard of this. Oh, and where are my manners. Hi Karla and James. I like your owl.
Yes! It’s pretty dang amazing. Get one.
I’ll tell you this though… if you think a regular umbrella is a bitch in the wind wait until you try to fly this one in the wind!
Cheers,
Zack
WoW! What a way to make a pain in the ass, so not painful anymore. Awesome image Zack!
I bet your 86″ could carry you away, right?! lol! … lovin’ the 365 btw! I started mine on Jan 1…. this is the 3rd time I’ve started one. I intend to finish this time! lol!
dustin diaz was my inspiration to start!!! =)
Nice one! Still not brave enough to start my own 365, but enjoying yours very much!
The light on these portraits is killer. So soft and beautiful. That OWL is amazing!
the picture takes on a new level when i had a look at the “pain in the a” lighting conditions… talk about killing the ambient light!
Totally know her from Flickr. Weird. Also I know The Listener. Saw you wearing his shirt and your shot of his washing machine. Love his music.
