Day 46 :: Workflow

Seriously spent a lot of time getting the workflow screencast online today. Had to re-re-re-record it today due to the fact that post production is boring as can be. Caleb sat with me and heckled me all the way through. :)

Today was a busy day. Sherri is out. Dan is out. We aren’t firing with all cylinders right now at the studio and by the end of the day all I wanted to do was crash with Meg to watch some couples pairs events. Who thought up to do all that on ice? Someone had to be sitting around wondering if one person could throw another person through the air and then land on ice and do it perfectly. It had to start somewhere. Crazy.

So for today, my screencast is my 365 offering. I did learn a better way to set up my screencast app. So… there’s that. You can find the workflow screencast on my main blog.

Cheers,
Zack

    For a 365, you need a Panasonic GF-1! ;) Small enough to keep with you, and good quality too. Good luck!

    Awesome screencast! What software are you using to record it with?

    Man, I think your workflow is waaaaaaaaaaay too complicated. I try to stick to 2 programs max for me and sometimes use only one. Is it because I’m lazy? No. It’s because I’ve learned what works best for me personally. Zack, what do you feel you really gain by going from program to program to program? I use LR2 to import my photos to catalog them and then either process them in NX2 or use CS4 to process the images. It all depends on how much post processing I need to do. If the photo is amazing SOOC, I usually use NX2 since it produces better colors than CS4 from a Nikon RAW file. If after converting to jpg or TIFF I feel that the photo still needs something I’ll import it into CS4. The last photo shoot I did, I processed everything directly in CS4 and the results were great, but for accurate colors across the board with Nikon, I feel you need to use NX2. It’s also better for seeing in camera settings, so all of you sharpening and picture controls will still work. Anyway, I’m fascinated by why you need to use 3 programs to process your files??? Thanks for sharing the info with us.
