Testing. Testing. 1. 2. 3.

Hello and greetings and salutations everyone!

When I launched this site last year I promised it would be a place with more signal and less noise. That’s all fine and well until my head got into a space that was all noise and little to no signal.

2015 is a year that needs to hurry up and come to an end. I know that sounds fatalistic and over dramatic but it gets the point across fairly well. I’m not going to filet myself open at the moment but suffice it to say it’s been a year of living in some dark clouds. I feel though, the clouds are lifting. I’m filtering out the noise and I’m finding signal again. It’s faint but it’s there. I’m down but I’m not gone.

Since my last post some time ago a lot has happened. Many good things really. I took over a new studio space and have been busy getting it set up like I want it. I loved my last little studio but it was time for some windows and space to put a cyc wall in. I hope to have that finished up in a month or so.

We finally finished the Art of the Editorial video and we will be launching it with the upcoming 5 Day Deal. More info coming on that. The image above is from that new video.

Work has been going well and the lights are on and the kids are fed so that’s all good.

I’ve got a few posts coming up and then I’ll be back in action in the next month. I’ve got a three big projects I need to finish and then I’m taking the rest of the year off to write, camp, and get this shit flying again!

I hope you all are well! Sorry for dropping off the radar suddenly. I had to though to keep my sanity. Thank you for your understanding.

More to come!

Great to see this post, and sorry to hear about those dark clouds. You’ve been posting some intriguing things on Instagram. Looking forward to reading what you have to write – when you finally get time!

  7. DLuker

Sounds like we’re having a very similar ’15. I actually didn’t touch my Fuji’s for four months & didn’t bother downloading anything for eight months. Slowly coming back, but those were some dark days.

A little advice: don’t bite off more than you can chew. You get overwhelmed, then disappointed, which feeds those nasty bad brain chemicals. But I bet you already know that.

Nice to be seeing more of you, but please take care of YOU first.

  8. James

No rush Zack as I have no doubt that you will be filching more money out of my back pocket with the next vid!

  9. Fury

Thanks for the heads up…. good to have you back! 🙂

  10. Carrie

    Heh Zack
    We definitely missed you.
You are a little irreverant and brutally honest. My kind of guy.
On top of that you are a great photographer.

Glad to hear from you Zack. I’m fairly new to dedpxl.com so your absence is giving me time to absorb your awesome info and wit. Carry on, and I’ll wait for more knowledge, wit and wisdom whenever you want to give it. BTW, I just got your book today in the mail. More good stuff to learn!!!

Your voice and your presence have been deeply missed and it’s good to hear that the dark clouds are lifting. Perhaps you can find comfort and peace in knowing that the dark night of the soul often ushers in a deeper and more profound sense of meaning and connectedness. Cheers to the clouds lifting and the signal getting stronger.

Know that you are an inspiration to many. I deeply respect your work and the content you create, your honesty is one of the many reasons for that. It gave me the courage to be honest to the people around me when I found myself facing dark clouds of my own.
I look forward to seeing your new video. Meanwhile I got your book to read again.
Thank you Zack for you dedication.
